Material Text Culture Blog
In its first funding period, the CRC "Material Text Cultures" had a common text repository – the M(aterial) T(ext) C(ulture) Blog. It was designed to make different types of written text visible as they emerge in collaborative research processes and thereby also document the research practice itself. The MTC-Blog was thereby also an instrument of scholarly self-reflection at the CRC. It drew attention to the fact that scholarly research is neither based exclusively on 'academic' texts nor exclusively produces 'academic' texts. Scholarly work produces on the contrary a wide variety of texts in form and content which are usually not published but rather forgotten. The MTC Blog is a small collection of such texts that were produced at the CRC 933 during its first funding period.
The contributions to the MTC Blog have an ISSN as well as a DOI. The texts published on the MTC Blog are licensed under Creative Commons "Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Germany (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 DE)".
The practice of academic writing and work are subject to constant change that does not even stop for a comparatively short-lived institution such as a Collaborative Research Centre. To be more approachable and connected to other academic blogs, the CRC has moved the documentation that was begun as the MTC Blog from its own website to the editorially supported platform for humanities- and social science-blogs hypotheses.org in 2017. Reports about events, exhibitions, or from research groups, interviews and lecture notes can now be accessed on sfb933.hypotheses.org.
